Galatians 6:1 (Whole Chapter)
Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
But they that wait upon
the LORD shall renew
their
strength; they shall
mount up
with wings as eagles;
they shall
run, and not be weary;
and they
shall walk, and not
faint,
- Isaiah 40:31
The song writer said
"I have decided to follow
Jesus, "no turning
back." One thing that is
wrong in our churches
today is that too many
that once claimed to
love Jesus, His Word and
His Church have turned
back. The straight and
narrow way is strewn
with those who have fallen
out by the way.
Our text says we shall
reap if we faint not.
DON'T STOP!
Hebrews 6:1 says,
"Let us go on..."
Keep on keeping on!
James 1:22 says,
Be ye doers not hears
only." 2 Peter 1:5 says,
to add to our faith.
Salvation is only the beginning.
And the last thing the
"old fisherman" says
to us is in
2 Peter 3:18,
"Grow in grace..."
Not into grace but once
you are in grace we are to
grow as a Christian.
One reason that some
quit on God is that they
are looking at others
who have already fainted
and stopped. Hebrews 11
tells us of others who
have lived and died in the
faith. They are heroes,
but when we begin
Chapter 12, the One who we are to look to is
Jesus. He never fails;
He is to be our example, not others. Someone
said that the thief on
the cross never got baptized never joined a
church, and never
tithed. Why should I do these things? To keep
from fainting.
1. Take an open,
unashamed stand for Jesus.
2. Read your Bible daily.
3. Wait on the Lord (Isaiah
40:28-31).
4. Pray daily (Luke
18:1)
5. Confess and lay aside
every known sin (Hebrews 12:1-3).
Put these principles to
practice and don't faint,. don't stop, don't
quit, and don't fall out
by the way. The trumpet will soon sound we
will. meet Jesus, and
those who did not quit will be casting crowns
at His feet.
